TAPS is an independent, local, non-profit organization working to serve homeless dogs and cats. We provide life-changing services for homeless pets that come to our shelter every day. Animals arrive in need of medical care, training, foster care, and in need of loving homes.
We hope you'll consider adoption and submit an application to adopt today. Our mission is to reduce the number of homeless pets euthanized in the Midwest each year through an adoption program, community education, promotion of spaying and neutering, and a veterinary medicine program. We continue to save pets from rural animal control facilities where they are at a high risk of euthanasia, and instead offer them a second chance at a loving home in the Chicagoland area. Maricopa County Animal Care and Control employees are committed to animal welfare, and we are always looking to add talented individuals to our team, either at our West or East Valley Animal Care Centers. As one of the nation's largest open-admission shelters, we work with our community to serve the animals and people of Maricopa County.
Our adoptions, foster, kennel, behavior and animal control teams learn first-hand about proper care of homeless, stray and neglected animals and work hard to find them new homes. Starting February 4th our adoption center will be closed for walk-ins due to temporary staffing shortages. For the time being, our adoption process is application-based and completed applications are reviewed in the order they are received. If there is a pet you are interested in meeting from our website, please submit an application and our team will reach out to schedule an appointment.
Applications will be viewed in the order they are received. The holiday season is a time for giving and sharing with family and friends .
